Mango kesari!! A must try recipe. We usually do plain/pineapple kesari. But mango kesari is certainly not very popular when compared with others. Today I wanted to try the mango kesari, as I & my family members love mango a lot.. Without further delay, let me share my recipe to you.
Ingredients:
Rava - 1 cup
Ghee - 1/4 cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Mango pulp - 1 cup
Water - 1 1/4 cup
Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
Cashew nuts, raisin, almonds, pistachios - handful
Method:
1. Keep water for boiling in a bowl. In a kadai, heat ghee until melted; add the nuts & fry until light brown.
2. Now add rava/semolina, roast in the ghee in a low heat, taking care not to burn.
3. When rava is roasted, add sugar, mango pulp, water, cardamom powder, and stir continuously until mixed well.
4. Let it cook for 3 to 5 minutes in low flame until the halwa leaves on sides (in other terms - the halwa shouldn't stick to the pan)
5. Mango Kesari is ready to relish.
Notes:
Add tiny mango pieces if you wish at the end of step 3.
